About the Role We are seeking a compassionate, experienced and dedicated Residential Care Officer to join our residential care team. The successful candidate will provide person‑centred care, supervision and ongoing support to residents while promoting their independence, dignity, safety, emotional wellbeing and participation in everyday life.

Key Responsibilities

The Residential Care Officer will work closely with residents, families, nursing and allied health professionals and other members of the care team to assess individual needs, implement individualised support programs, monitor residents' progress and maintain accurate care documentation.

- Assess residents' physical, emotional, behavioural, social and daily living support needs
- Plan, develop, implement and review individual support, skill development and behaviour support plans with residents, families and allied health professionals.
- Deliver education, training and life-skills programs that build independence and community participation.
- Monitor, record and report progress against support objectives, and maintain accurate case notes and client records.
- Refer residents to health, housing, employment and community agencies, and coordinate service delivery.
- Liaise with families, guardians, welfare agencies,



government bodies and funding bodies.
- Coordinate individual funding packages, service agreements and plan reviews.
- Supervise, roster, induct and mentor support workers, and lead handovers and case reviews.
- Manage and report critical incidents, behaviours of concern and restrictive practices in line with regulatory obligations.
- Provide day‑to‑day care and supervision, including incidental personal support where required by a resident's plan.
- Ensure compliance with the NDIS Practice Standards, work health and safety legislation and residents' rights to privacy, dignity and choice.

Qualifications & Experiences

- Diploma (AQF Level 5) or higher in community services, disability services, residential care or youth work.
- Minimum 1 year of post‑qualification experience in direct practice in a residential care setting.
- Demonstrated experience in assessment, support planning, case coordination and stakeholder liaison.
- Experience supervising or mentoring support staff.
- NDIS Worker Screening Check, First Aid and CPR, and a current driver's licence.
