AbSec - NSW Child, Family and Community Peak Aboriginal Corporation , is the peak organisation for Aboriginal children, young people and families in NSW. We provide an Aboriginal perspective on child protection and out-of-home care policy to the NSW Government and support Aboriginal-led organisations deliver effective services for Aboriginal children, young people and families. We are a not-for-profit, incorporated community organisation, governed by an all-Aboriginal board.
About the role
The Digital Marketing Coordinator is the storyteller at the heart of AbSec's digital presence – elevating the voices of Aboriginal children, families and communities across NSW, as well as the Aboriginal Community-Controlled organisations we work to support. This role leads the creation and delivery of compelling social media content, video and photography, and human-centred storytelling that brings our mission to life across a range of platforms and audiences.
Working closely with the Communications and Memberships team, the Digital Marketing Coordinator will take ownership of AbSec’s digital presence, ensuring our websites are engaging, accessible, up to date and performing at their best on WordPress. The role will also bring AbSec’s stories and messages to life through compelling graphic design, animation and digital content using Adobe Creative Suite and Canva.
From shaping the online experience to creating eye-catching visuals that celebrate Aboriginal culture, community and connection, this role is about using digital channels to tell meaningful stories, amplify AbSec’s key messages and elevate the voices and experiences of the people and communities we serve.
Key responsibilities
Manage AbSec's website presence across our four WordPress websites using WP Engine and Elementor, ensuring content is accurate,
events are up to date and the user experience reflects our brand and values
Deliver a broad range of graphic design work using Canva and Adobe Suite, including reports, digital design assets and basic video editing. Note advanced Canva skills highly regarded
Plan and execute the day-to-day management of AbSec's social media channels, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and emerging platforms
Create and schedule engaging, culturally responsive content that reflects AbSec's mission and values, maintaining a consistent voice and visual identity
Grow and nurture AbSec's online community by actively responding to comments, messages and engagement with authenticity and care
Maintain content calendars and ensure timely, coordinated delivery of posts across all platforms
Monitor social media performance using analytics tools, providing regular insights and recommendations to strengthen reach and engagement
Plan, film, edit and produce high-quality video content for social media, the website, campaigns and events
Seek out and develop powerful human stories from across the Aboriginal community-controlled sector, giving a genuine voice to children, families, carers, workers and communities
Plan, develop and execute digital marketing campaigns across social media, email marketing, pay-per-click (PPC) advertising and content marketing channels
About you
Minimum of 2-years relevant experience working within media or marketing role
Completion or progress towards relevant tertiary qualifications in communication, or other relevant discipline
A creative and cutting-edge thinker with demonstrated experience working in digital media, preferably for an Aboriginal organisation, not-for-profit, community services or government organisation
Demonstrated experience in campaign management
Strong written communication and editing skills with a high-level of attention to detail across multiple formats and targeted to diverse audiences
Experience working with key online services, databases, programs and software such as content management systems, Google Analytics, social media analytics, and email platforms
Photography and video-making skills, including experience with Adobe Photoshop, Canva and Adobe Premiere Pro (or similar)
Strong content creation for digital and print using digital design software such as Canva and Adobe Creative Suite
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team to ensure timely delivery of allocated tasks and the ability to handle multiple priorities to a high standard

Salary: SCHADS Level 4 - $93,500 plus superannuation, commensurate with skills and experience (not-for-profit salary packaging available)
