The Role

The Bushland and Bushcare Officer is responsible for managing and implementing Urban Ecology programs in three key areas:

- Remnant Vegetation Management - working to progress towards EAP targets.
- Bushcare Volunteer Program - Managing an active, effective and engaging Bushcare volunteer program that improves remnant vegetation and native habitat across Waverley LGA.
- Biosecurity - ensure that Council and residents comply with the NSW Biosecurity Act 2015, with delegations under this Act.

About You:

- Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or demonstrated experience in applied natural resource management, biodiversity conservation or land care operations.
- Previous experience in supervising bush regeneration contractors and Bushcare volunteers.Demonstrated understanding of bush regeneration and natural resource management in a local government context.
- Knowledge of vegetation and ecosystems in coastal and urban environments.




- Excellent time management and experience in procurement, supplier performance, risks and variations.
- Demonstrated project management skills including scoping, scheduling, risk and financial management.
- Practical experience with risk and safety associated with bush regeneration and volunteer activities.

This role is advertised as full-time, with the flexibility to consider part-time arrangements for the right candidate.
