Practice Nurse - Clements Medical Cloncurry

Clements Medical is seeking an experienced and compassionate Practice Nurse to join our healthcare team in Cloncurry, Queensland. This is a full-time position based at our Cloncurry medical practice, where you will play a vital role in delivering high quality patient care and supporting the clinical operations of our busy medical practice. As a Practice Nurse, you will be at the forefront of patient interactions, providing nursing care, health promotion and disease prevention services to our diverse patient population. This role is essential to ensuring our practice operates efficiently whilst maintaining the highest standards of patient care.

Key responsibilities

Conducting patient health assessments, including vital signs monitoring, blood pressure checks and weight management

Administering vaccinations and immunisations according to national immunisation schedules and protocols

Performing routine clinical procedures such as wound care, dressing changes and minor suture removal

Assisting with diagnostic procedures and specimen collection including blood tests and pathology samples

Providing patient education and health promotion advice on chronic disease management, lifestyle modifications and preventative health measures

Managing patient records and ensuring accurate documentation of clinical notes and nursing observations

Supporting the practice doctors in clinical consultations and procedures as required

Maintaining a clean, safe and sterile clinical environment in compliance with infection control standards





Managing clinic scheduling, patient flow and administrative duties to ensure smooth practice operations

Responding to patient queries and providing compassionate support to patients and their families

What we're looking for

Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse

Minimum 2 years of experience working as a Practice Nurse or in a general medical setting

Current immunisation provider status or willingness to obtain this qualification

Strong knowledge of chronic disease management frameworks, particularly for conditions such as diabetes, hypertension and cardiovascular disease

Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with patients from diverse cultural backgrounds

Proficiency with practice management software and electronic health records systems

A valid Australian driver's licence and reliable transport (desirable, given the regional location)

Current First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification

Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks in a busy clinical environment

A commitment to ongoing professional development and continuing education





Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team
