Capalaba Sports Club is a thriving community hub and premier dining destination in the heart of Capalaba. We're committed to delivering exceptional customer service, quality food and warm hospitality.

We're looking for an experienced Sous Chef to join our kitchen team in a full time capacity. This is a key leadership role supporting our Head Chef and kitchen operations ensuring consistently high standards of food quality, presentation, service and food safety.

With a 250-seat restaurant and multipurpose function room, this is an exciting opportunity for a motivated chef who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and wants to be part of a strong, supportive team.

About You

We're looking for someone who has:

- Proven experience as a Sous Chef in a similar role or a strong Chef de Partie ready to take the next step in their career
- Relevant trade qualifications and a current Food Safety certificate
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and support a kitchen team
- Excellent time management, organisation and problem-solving skills
- High standards of food safety, cleanliness and kitchen hygiene
- A strong attention to detail and commitment to consistently delivering quality food in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with food ordering, stock control, stocktake, food costing and menu planning




- Experience assisting with staff rostering and workforce planning
- The ability to confidently lead a service and maintain standards during busy periods
- Experience across all sections, including grill, pans and larder
- Function and high-volume catering experience
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both kitchen and front-of-house teams
- A positive, professional attitude with the ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team

This is a full-time position and requires flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including days, nights, weekends and public holidays .
