Retail Buyer (Full-Time) – Girdlers, Cromer NSW Job Summary Thr3 Pty Ltd, trading as Girdlers, is a health-conscious dining destination with locations across New South Wales, including Dee Why, Manly, Brookvale (Warringah), and Avalon.

In addition to its café operations, Girdlers offers a curated retail range including branded merchandise, apparel, premium coffee, drinkware, and specialty products. We are seeking a Retail Buyer to join our team on a full time basis at our Cromer NSW 2099 location. This role is suited to a skilled retail purchasing professional with experience in selecting products, negotiating with suppliers, analysing market trends, managing purchasing activities, and maintaining appropriate stock levels.

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and managing the purchase of retail products, evaluating supplier proposals, negotiating supply arrangements, monitoring market conditions, and ensuring products meet customer demand and business requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Analyse market trends, customer preferences, and sales information to determine suitable retail product requirements.
- Select and purchase merchandise, apparel, coffee products, drinkware, and specialty goods in accordance with business requirements.
- Research and evaluate products, suppliers, prices,



and quality standards before purchasing decisions are made.
- Negotiate purchasing terms, prices, delivery arrangements, and supply agreements with suppliers.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and monitor supplier performance.
- Monitor stock levels, sales performance, and inventory requirements to ensure adequate product availability.
- Forecast purchasing requirements and coordinate ordering processes to maintain appropriate stock levels.
- Review product quality, specifications, and suitability to ensure products meet Girdlers’ standards.
- Maintain purchasing records, supplier details, product information, and inventory documentation.
- Monitor changes in market conditions, supplier pricing, and product availability to support purchasing decisions.
- Provide recommendations regarding new products, product range improvements, and purchasing strategies.
- Work with management teams to align retail purchasing activities with customer demand and business objectives.
- Ensure purchasing activities are conducted efficiently and in accordance with business policies and procedures.

What We're Looking For

- Relevant qualification in retail management, business, procurement, supply chain management, or a related field.
- Minimum one year of experience as a Retail Buyer, Purchasing Officer, Procurement Officer, or similar role.
- Experience in retail purchasing, supplier negotiation, product selection, and inventory management.
- Strong understanding of market research, product evaluation, and purchasing processes.
- Ability to analyse sales information and market trends to support purchasing decisions.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and organisational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple suppliers, products, and purchasing priorities.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality and cost efficiency.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a retail and hospitality environment.
