Shelter Building Projects is seeking an experienced Carpenter to join our growing team in Brookvale NSW. This is a full-time position that offers the opportunity to work on diverse building projects, from residential to commercial constructions. As a Carpenter, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality carpentry work that meets our clients' expectations and industry standards. This role is integral to our project delivery success and allows you to apply your technical expertise in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities

- Prepare and install timber framing, flooring, roofing, and other structural components according to architectural drawings and specifications
- Measure, cut, shape, and assemble wood and other materials using hand and power tools
- Inspect work for accuracy and ensure compliance with building codes and safety regulations
- Collaborate with other trades and project team members to ensure seamless project execution
- Maintain a safe and tidy work site, adhering to all health and safety requirements
- Read and interpret technical drawings, plans, and specifications
- Troubleshoot construction issues and provide practical solutions
- Perform finishing work including sanding, staining, and varnishing where required

What we're looking for

- A recognised carpentry qualification or apprenticeship completion in building trades
- Minimum 5+ years of hands-on carpentry experience in residential or commercial construction
- Proficiency with traditional and power tools, including saws, drills, sanders, and nail guns
- Strong ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications accurately




- Solid understanding of building codes, safety standards, and compliance requirements
- Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to delivering quality workmanship
- Strong communication and teamwork skills with the ability to work effectively with other trades
- Physical fitness and ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions
- Current First Aid Certificate and White Card (or willingness to obtain)
- Valid driver's licence and reliable transport to site locations
- Preferred: Experience with specialised carpentry techniques, formwork, or heritage restoration
