Legal Support Officer opportunity available!

The Legal Support Officer provides high-quality administrative support and exceptional client service to ensure the effective delivery of family law and domestic and family violence services.
Key Responsibilities
- Acting as the first point of contact for clients.
- Responding to client queries regarding process and general information and escalating to Solicitors for legal advice.
- Processing and managing incoming referrals from referral partners
- Calendar management, scheduling and confirming appointments with clients and requesting relevant paperwork required for client appointments.
- Maintaining electronic client files such as data entry, updating client records, completing conflict checks, opening, closing and archiving files.
- Troubleshooting IT issues and escalating them as required.
Process improvement
- Contribute to improving processes within the team by identifying issues and providing feedback to the Supervising Solicitor.
Training Administrative and Helpline staff
- Provide training and ongoing support to the Helpline Team and administrative staff.
- Completing intake duties as required.
Adhere to the vision and values of WLSQ
- Develop respectful and professional relationships with WLSQ team members and key stakeholders.
- Work cooperatively and collaboratively towards the WLSQ strategy.
- Perform any other reasonable duties as required.
Selection Criteria / Skills and Capabilities
- Experience performing administrative / secretarial tasks in relation to family law and domestic and family violence.
- High level computer literacy and competency using Microsoft Office Suite and Client Management Systems.
- Communicates effectively in difficult or sensitive situations, such as delivering difficult feedback or addressing client concerns.
- Provides guidance and support to less experienced staff, sharing knowledge and fostering professional development.
- Prioritises complex tasks and manages multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring that deadlines are met and quality standards are maintained.
- Establishes, builds and sustains effective relationships with clients and their supports.
- Shares information and provides care and support to clients and families under senior professional supervision or guidelines.
- Is confident to make decisions within the scope of their role, exercises initiative as needed and demonstrates a considered approach to decision making.
- Delivers expected results in a consistent and reliable manner, within established frameworks
- Commitment to and ability to work within a feminist framework and to work independently and as a member of a team.
Mandatory Requirements
This role requires the incumbent to hold and maintain the following:
- Working With Children Check (Blue Card)
- National Police Check
