This Estimator / Project Manager role combines landscape construction estimating with project planning and delivery. You'll work closely with the Director, construction team and clients to take projects from initial enquiry through quoting, scheduling, construction and completion. Your week will be varied, involving client meetings, site visits, preparing estimates, coordinating suppliers and trades, and keeping projects on track.

Key responsibilities

Meeting clients and assessing project requirements on site

Reviewing landscape plans, specifications and selections to prepare accurate estimates

Preparing quantity take-offs and costing labour, materials, equipment and subcontractors

Developing clear scopes of works and client quotes

Obtaining and comparing supplier and subcontractor pricing

Planning project schedules and coordinating crews, suppliers and trades

Checking that jobs are properly prepared before crews arrive

Monitoring project costs, progress, timelines and variations

Keeping clients informed and following up outstanding decisions and actions





Managing project information from enquiry through to completion and keeping project management systems accurate and up to date

About you

Extremely organised, reliable and proactive

Confident working with numbers, plans and detailed project information

Comfortable preparing estimates and coordinating construction projects

Confident communicating with clients, suppliers and subcontractors

Comfortable taking responsibility and managing multiple projects at once

Good at following things through

Commercially minded, with attention to project costs and budgets

Interested in construction and how landscapes are actually built

Comfortable working closely with tradespeople and site teams

Substantial opportunity to develop into a senior operational position within the company

Significant input into how the business operates as it grows

Prospect to work on the whole project rather than only one small part of it
