This is because the Department acknowledges this lived experience contributes a perspective valuable to our work with this community.
Your role
The NSW Government is determined to make NSW a place where everyone has access to safe and secure housing, and where experiences of homelessness are rare, brief and non-recurring.
Homes NSW is a division of the Department of Communities and Justice. It brings together the housing and homelessness functions of the Department of Communities and Justice, the NSW Land and Housing Corporation, Aboriginal Housing Office and key worker housing functions from across government all under one roof.
You will contribute to the delivery of policy, strategy and reform initiatives by supporting project coordination, analysis and stakeholder engagement, and preparing advice and outputs to inform decision-making in line with Homes NSW priorities.
What you’ll do
- Contribute to the delivery of policy, strategy and reform initiatives, consistent with organisational priorities.
- apply robust policy development capability and strategic delivery experience in complex government environments, underpinned by cultural capability and an informed understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures.
- Support project planning and coordination activities, including tracking actions, timelines and deliverables.
- Prepare evidence-based advice, briefs and outputs for review by senior staff.
- Collate, analyse and synthesise information to support policy and project outcomes.
- Support stakeholder engagement,
including coordinating input and maintaining working relationships.
- Work collaboratively across Housing Strategy and Policy and Homes NSW to support delivery of outcomes.
What we’re looking for
- Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline and/or equivalent knowledge, skills and experience with demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.
- You possess excellent stakeholder management skills
- You’re able to work with minimal supervision, on numerous projects, simultaneously.
- You’re able to balance competing deadlines on time critical projects
- You can deliver outcomes with high attention to detail.
- Experience in, or exposure to, complex policy or reform environments, including the ability to analyse information and contribute to evidence-based advice.
- Knowledge of legislation and government processes relevant to Homes NSW or similar public sector environments.
We focus on hiring people who share our commitment and goals of inclusion, collaboration, adaptability, courage and integrity. If you meet the essential requirements and the role resonates with you, please apply – you do not need to meet every desired requirement for us to want to talk to you.
What We Offer
We offer a variety of benefits, including:
- A challenging and rewarding career
- Flexible, autonomous work environment
- Competitive pay and conditions
- Training and development opportunities to build and maintain capabilities
- Health & Wellbeing and Employee Assistance Programs.
