In this influential role, you will deliver expert, evidence-based clinical care, providing specialist consultation, leadership, and advice to support people experiencing alcohol and other drug challenges throughout Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service.

About us:

The Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs Service (MHAODS) is responsible for delivering mental health, alcohol and other drugs services throughout the Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service (CHHHS) and for supporting other mental health, alcohol and other drugs services in the surrounding Hospital and Health Services of Cape York, Torres Strait Northern Peninsula Area. Its primary objective is to ensure access to a comprehensive range of treatment and support services, clinical treatment, rehabilitation, disability support, as well as early intervention, and mental health prevention and promotion.

About your role:





In this position you will…..

- Provide leadership, support, and direction to the multidisciplinary team.
- Develop programs to enhance knowledge and skills of other health service staff in alcohol and other drugs management.
- Liaise with the Alcohol and Other Drug Services (AODS) in Cairns and with other alcohol and drug service providers to the district to coordinate program delivery.
