Business Analyst (Payroll Implementation)

Working for a key government own corporation, we are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support a payroll implementation and transformation program . This is an initial 6-month contract based in Brisbane, working closely with Payroll, HR, Technology and implementation partners to support the successful delivery of a new payroll solution.

The successful candidate will have strong experience working across payroll and HR technology implementations , with the ability to translate complex business and payroll requirements into clear functional and technical requirements.

Experience with ADP, SAP SuccessFactors and/or Oracle HCM will be highly regarded.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead business analysis activities across the payroll implementation lifecycle.
- Facilitate workshops with Payroll, HR, Finance, Technology and other key stakeholders.
- Gather, analyse and document business, functional and process requirements.
- Map current-state and future-state payroll processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Translate payroll requirements into clear specifications for technical and implementation teams.
- Support payroll configuration, integration and data requirements.
- Assist with data mapping, migration, validation and reconciliation activities.
- Work with stakeholders to understand payroll rules, awards, enterprise agreements and business processes.
- Support system, integration and user acceptance testing,



including requirements traceability and defect resolution.
- Identify process gaps, dependencies, risks and impacts associated with the implementation.
- Work closely with project managers, technical teams, vendors and business SMEs throughout delivery.
- Support implementation readiness, cutover and transition into BAU operations.

Skills & Experience

- Demonstrated experience as a Business Analyst within payroll, HRIS or HCM implementation programs .
- Solid understanding of end-to-end payroll processes and associated HR systems.
- Experience gathering and documenting complex business and functional requirements.
- Strong process mapping, workshop facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience supporting system implementations, integrations, data migration and testing.
- Ability to work effectively across business, technical and vendor teams.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Strong attention to detail, particularly when working with payroll data and business rules.

Highly Regarded

- Hands-on implementation experience with ADP .
- Experience with SAP SuccessFactors .
- Experience with Oracle HCM / Oracle Cloud HCM .
- Experience working on large-scale payroll transformation or replacement programs.
- Knowledge of Australian payroll requirements and complex payroll environments.
- Initial term: 6 months
