Roc-Drill Pty Ltd is seeking experienced Drill Fitters to join our team in QLD. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in the mining, drilling and blasting operations sector. As a Drill Fitter, you will be responsible for the assembly, maintenance, and repair of drilling equipment that is essential to our operations. This role is based in Brisbane, QLD 4000 and offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge drilling technology in a dynamic and fast-paced workplace.

Key responsibilities

- Assembling and fitting drilling equipment components to precise specifications and technical standards
- Performing routine maintenance and preventative servicing on drilling rigs and associated equipment
- Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and hydraulic faults in drilling machinery
- Conducting inspections of equipment to ensure all components are functioning safely and efficiently
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints and maintenance manuals
- Maintaining detailed records of all maintenance and repair work completed
- Collaborating with drilling teams and site supervisors to minimise downtime and ensure operational continuity
- Following all health, safety and environmental procedures and protocols on site
- Identifying opportunities for equipment improvements and process optimisation

What we’re looking for

- Proven experience as a Drill Fitter or similar mechanical fitter role within the mining or drilling industry
- Strong knowledge of drilling equipment, hydraulic systems and mechanical components
- Competency in using hand tools, power tools and specialised drilling equipment maintenance tools




- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately
- Sound understanding of health and safety regulations relevant to mining operations
- Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Physical fitness and ability to work in challenging site conditions
- Excellent communication and teamwork capabilities
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in mechanical fitting, hydraulics or drilling equipment maintenance (preferred)
- Experience with drill and blast operations in open-cut or underground mining environments (preferred)
