About the Role:

Thompson Health Care is seeking an experienced Quality and Compliance Officer to support the delivery of high-quality, safe and compliant residential aged care services across our homes.

Reporting to the Director of Quality and Compliance Excellence, this role will work closely with operational leaders and team members to strengthen quality systems, monitor compliance, support clinical governance and promote a culture of continuous improvement. The position involves both desktop and onsite audits and requires regular travel to Thompson Health Care homes.

Key responsibilities:

- Implement and monitor quality assurance processes across Thompson Health Care homes.
- Conduct desktop and onsite audits of services, systems and documentation.
- Identify compliance gaps and work collaboratively with operational teams to implement corrective actions.
- Monitor audit recommendations and support the timely completion of improvement actions.
- Provide practical guidance, education and training to staff on quality and compliance matters.
- Support the management of complaints, including gathering information, conducting interviews and documenting outcomes.
- Analyse incidents, complaints and quality indicators to identify trends, risks and opportunities for improvement.
- Prepare reports for management and regulatory purposes.
- Maintain accurate records of audits, inspections and compliance activities.
- Support the ongoing development and implementation of policies, procedures and the Clinical Governance Framework.




- Contribute to leadership and quality meetings and facilitate quality improvement discussions and workshops.
- Assist homes to maintain effective incident reporting, risk management and compliance systems.

About You:

- Extensive experience in residential aged care.
- Current Police Check (National Police Certificate) (Essential)
- Solid working knowledge of the Aged Care Quality Standards and aged care regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrated experience conducting audits and supporting corrective action and continuous improvement processes.
- Strong analytical, investigation and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to engage constructively with residents, families, employees, managers and external stakeholders.
- High attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality, accountability and safe care.
- Experience using quality management systems and compliance software.
- The capacity and willingness to travel to Thompson Health Care homes to provide onsite support.
