Transport Allocator / Fleet Manager – Cobra Waste Solutions (NSW)

Cobra Waste Solutions is seeking a Transport Allocator / Fleet Manager to join our team. This is a hands‑on role ideal for someone passionate about managing logistics, fleet performance, and customer service with a strong focus on safety, compliance, and cost-effective route planning .

The successful candidate you will manage the daily allocation of a rigid truck fleet , maintain compliance with NHVS and fatigue regulations , and serve as a key link between drivers, customers, and the operations team.

Your strong ability to multitask and work well in a fast-paced environment will be key to this role and your success.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage the daily allocation and scheduling of company vehicles and drivers.

- Monitor fleet movements in real‑time and adjust schedules as required to meet customer demands.

- Coordinate transport activities to maximise fleet utilisation and operational efficiency.

- Communicate with drivers regarding job allocations, route changes, and operational requirements.

- Liaise with customers to provide updates on deliveries, collections, and service requests.

- Ensure compliance with NHVS, Chain of Responsibility (CoR), fatigue management, and road transport regulations.





- Manage & Maintain accurate records of vehicle maintenance, registrations, inspections, and compliance documentation.

- Monitor driver performance, timesheets, and adherence to company policies and procedures.

- Coordinate vehicle servicing, repairs, and maintenance to minimise downtime.

- Investigate and resolve operational issues, delays, customer concerns, and driver queries.

- Work closely with the sales and operations teams to meet customer requirements and business objectives.

- Manage fuel usage, fleet costs, and operational efficiencies.

- Assist with the implementation and improvement of transport systems, processes, and procedures.

- Support business growth by identifying opportunities to improve fleet productivity and customer service.

About You

You’ll thrive in this role if you are:

- Eager to learn and grow in logistics or transport

- Highly organized with robust attention to detail

- A confident communicator with drivers and clients

- Comfortable with Microsoft Office and basic IT systems

- A proactive team player who performs well under pressure

- Knowledge in the Waste Recycling industry (highly preferred)

- Mechanically minded (preferably)

Fleet Allocators will see the location of Cobra vehicles within the road network at all times and have the ability to re‑assign Cobra vehicles to different customer sites in real‑time.

Experience in a similar position or within the Transport and Logistics industry is necessary.
