A Day in the Life

Reporting to the Head Chef, the Senior Sous Chef plays a key leadership role within the kitchen, ensuring consistency, quality, and operational excellence across every service.

In this hands-on leadership position, you will:

- Lead, mentor, and develop kitchen team members to achieve high performance and professional growth

- Support the Head Chef in the day-to-day management of kitchen operations

- Maintain exceptional food quality, presentation, and consistency across all menu offerings

- Drive kitchen efficiency while maintaining a positive and collaborative team culture

- Assist with menu development, costing, and seasonal menu planning

- Ensure food safety, compliance, and workplace health and safety standards are upheld at all times

- Manage stock control, ordering, inventory, and minimisation of food waste

- Coordinate service across busy trading periods and large-volume functions





- Monitor labour costs and assist with rostering to support operational requirements

- Act as the leader in the Head Chef's absence, ensuring smooth kitchen operations

What We're Looking For

- Previous experience in a Senior Sous Chef or Sous Chef leadership role within a high-volume venue

- Strong leadership skills with a passion for developing and inspiring teams

- Exceptional culinary skills with a focus on quality, consistency, and innovation

- Proven experience managing service in a fast-paced environment

- Solid understanding of kitchen financials, food cost control, and stock management

- Excellent knowledge of food safety and HACCP principles

- Strong communication and organisational skills

- Full Australian working rights

- Availability to work a rotating roster including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
