Road Safety Education Limited (RSE) is seeking a capable, energetic and values-driven QLD State Lead to help strengthen our presence, relationships and impact across Queensland. This role will suit someone who is equally comfortable thinking strategically, working practically, and representing our organisation with confidence and credibility.

The QLD State Lead role will supervise a highly capable small team of direct reports, and lead a wider group of casual and contracted facilitators and volunteers. Especially in regional QLD, the role will maintain and develop strong relationships with our community partner, Rotary.

The role has P&L; responsibility across QLD, balancing income from government grants, participating schools and other sources against delivery and support expenses. It also ensures compliance with RSE policies in relation to health and safety, working with young people, and best practice in road safety education. It requires a strong operational strength and judgement. Suitable for a person looking for their next step up into more of a leadership role.

This is a full-time role that will include occasional weekend, early morning and evening responsibilities and travel throughout Queensland.

RSE is a leading not-for-profit organisation responsible for Ryda, Australia’s largest and longest road safety education program, with over 24,000 QLD students booked to participate each year.





Ryda is an evidence-led program featuring a highly interactive workshop supported by pre- and post-workshop activities and resources for participating high schools. Since 2001, almost 1,000,000 students have participated in Ryda across Australia and New Zealand.

The small RSE team is headquartered in Sydney with staff located in Queensland, Victoria and New Zealand.

About you

You will bring strong organisational skills balanced with stakeholder engagement skills and a demonstrated ability to work effectively with government, community partners and volunteer supporters. You will be a clear communicator who can build trust, maintain productive relationships and advocate for the value of road safety education across diverse settings.

We are looking for someone who can think analytically and creatively. You will be able to assess information, identify opportunities for improvement, and make calm, sound decisions when conditions change quickly. You will also be confident exploring new ways to improve efficiency, reduce costs and support income-generating opportunities.

A background in training, education or youth-focused program delivery will be highly regarded. You will understand the importance of compliance when working with young people and vulnerable communities,



and ideally bring experience in areas such as child-safe practices, Blue Card obligations or trauma-informed approaches.

As an emerging leader, you will be able to support and guide both a small core team and a wider network of casual or contracted facilitators and volunteers. You will provide clarity, encouragement and accountability while avoiding unnecessary micromanagement.

You will bring initiative, adaptability and a willingness to learn. The role requires someone who can work autonomously, collaborate as part of a broader team, and move confidently between strategic priorities and day-to-day operational needs.

The successful applicant will be comfortable acting as the Queensland spokesperson for Road Safety Education when required. You will be passionate and energetic about the role education can play in reducing road trauma, and able to communicate that purpose with professionalism and authenticity.

Practical capability will also be important. Experience in budgeting, grant proposals, CRM systems and general technology use will help you succeed in this varied and hands-on role.

Applicant requirements

Applicants must be willing and able to travel throughout Queensland. A current Blue Card and valid driver licence are required.
