Senior to Supervisor Accountant - Sydney Based - Mostly Remote

Sydney Based Office - 2 to 4 days in-office per month dependent on client meetings

My client is a well-stablished accounting and advisory firm with a 30 + year history in the market. Their key services include taxation, advisory, structuring and VCFO/Bookkeeping. The firm currently consists of 5 Partners and approximately 50 staff.

The business services a wide variety of SME businesses as well as HNW individuals and family groups (including SMSF's).

Due to the success of WFH arranagements in recent years the company can offer a hyper-versatile work environment with generally only several in-office days required each month for client meetings (after the initial training period).

They are now looking to recruit an experienced Accountant for their team. This role will work under a down-to-earth and humble Partner who has been with the business for over 20 years. The team has 4 staff members from Senior to Manager level and is supported by staff in the Philippines, and India.

This role has come about due to continued growth. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a can-do attitude, and someone looking to settle long-term in a practice.





This role will see you providing compliance services, reviewing the offshore and outsourced teams’ work, and being a key point of contact for clients. There is long-term progression into a managerial role on offer for the right candidate.

The firm’s tech stack includes Xero/XPM, Ignition, Class, Nowinfinity, and FYI Docs.

Key duties will include:

Preparing, review and lodge tax returns and financial statements for different entities

Reviewing BAS, IAS and other bookkeeping work completed by junior staff

Liaising with the ATO and other statutory bodies on behalf of clients.

Managing client communication, establishing and maintaining trust and rapport

The ideal candidate will possess:

CA or CPA qualification (or close to completion)

A minimum of 3 years experience in public practice, dealing with a diverse range of clients

Excellent written and verbal communication skills and prior experience dealing directly with clients

Strong organisation and time management skills and the ability to work independently
