About the role

PMG is seeking an experienced Senior Marine Coordinator to join our Marine Department in Townsville.

This is a key operational coordination and compliance role supporting the safe and productive operation of PMG's vessel fleet. Working closely with the Marine Operations Manager, vessel crews and internal teams, you will coordinate marine compliance, vessel documentation, crewing, travel and operational requirements across our Near Coastal and Unlimited operations.

This role combines high-level administration with operational coordination and would suit someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys taking ownership and can confidently manage multiple competing priorities.

Working as an integral part of the Marine Operations team, you will:

- Provide direct operational and administrative support to the Marine Operations leaders and team.
- Coordinate vessel crewing, rosters, travel, mobilisations and associated marine logistics.
- Work closely with People Services to ensure vessel crews hold the appropriate qualifications and competencies for their assignments.
- Maintain and monitor vessel and marine plant documentation, ensuring records remain accurate, current and compliant.
- Support the review and ongoing compliance of vessel Safety Management Systems.
- Monitor vessel compliance requirements including Class and DCV audits, regulatory records, certifications and insurances.
- Review vessel maintenance, certification and drill requirements within internal marine systems and coordinate actions with relevant teams.
- Monitor maritime regulatory, legislative and industry developments and communicate relevant changes to Marine Management and vessel crews.
- Assist with vessel risk assessments, incident reporting and marine safety and environmental requirements.
- Support PMG's Integrated Management System and marine quality processes, including ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement across marine administration, documentation and compliance processes.
- Provide broader administrative and coordination support across marine projects and operations as required.

We're looking for an experienced, highly organised professional who is confident working in an operational environment where priorities can change quickly.

You will bring:

- Significant experience in senior administration, operations coordination, compliance or a similar role.
- Robust planning and organisational skills with a systematic approach to managing and reviewing your work.
- Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate compliance documentation.
- The ability to independently manage competing priorities and work to strict deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the confidence to follow issues through to resolution.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly when communicating operational or time-critical information.
- Strong computer literacy, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, with the ability to confidently learn and manage internal systems.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective working relationships with vessel crews, internal teams and external stakeholders.
- A proactive, self-motivated approach and willingness to take ownership of your responsibilities.
- A current Driver Licence.

Previous experience within the maritime industry , including knowledge of marine regulatory requirements, Safety Management Systems or ISM Code compliance, will be highly regarded. Candidates with strong operational and compliance experience from similarly regulated industries are also encouraged to apply.

A maritime qualification and Construction Industry White Card would be advantageous.
