If you know what it takes to scope, price, and plan a heavy equipment rebuild properly, this is an opportunity to own the process from tender through to workshop delivery for a business that operates nationally.

Our client is an established heavy equipment rebuild and engineering business with three sites across Australia, looking for an experienced Scheduler / Planner to join its Singleton head office.

This is not simply a scheduling role, and it is not a single-site role.

You will price everything the business tenders for, nationally. You will work across the full front end of component and machine rebuilds for all three sites: developing scopes, estimating and pricing tenders, building the rebuild plan and then translating successful work into something the workshops can actually deliver.

The role

You will take responsibility for developing accurate rebuild scopes and pricing across the group, preparing estimates and job costings, and building the schedules, parts requirements and planning information needed to execute the work.

Once a tender is successful, you'll help move it from a commercial submission to workshop delivery, coordinating the moving pieces across parts, labour, suppliers, and external services.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Developing component and machine rebuild scopes and tender pricing for all three sites
- Preparing estimates, quotations, job costings and commercial submissions
- Developing machine rebuild and component overhaul schedules
- Creating standardised rebuild packs for workshop delivery
- Coordinating parts procurement, supplier bookings and project requirements
- Managing multiple tenders and rebuild projects at different stages and different sites
- Monitoring parts availability, backorders and supplier lead times
- Identifying scheduling conflicts, resource constraints and potential delays




- Maintaining accurate pricing, master data and planning information for the group
- Working closely with workshop supervisors and management to keep projects on track
- Contributing to improvements in estimating, planning systems and rebuild processes

What we're looking for

We're particularly interested in people who have developed their experience within a Caterpillar mining equipment or dealer environment and understand the realities of machine and component rebuild work. This is a required part of the experience profile for the appointment.

You may currently be working as a Planner, Scheduler, Estimator, Rebuild Planner or in another technical role that has given you genuine exposure to this work.

What matters is that you can demonstrate experience across:

- Heavy equipment, mining, machine rebuild or component overhaul
- Rebuild scoping, tender pricing and job costing
- Workshop planning and scheduling
- Parts ordering and supplier coordination
- Managing multiple concurrent tenders and rebuild projects

A trade background in Diesel Fitting, Mechanical Fitting or similar is preferred, but not essential. Microsoft Project and strong Excel capability will be highly regarded. Experience estimating or pricing for more than one workshop will also be highly regarded.

More than keeping a schedule updated

This role needs someone who understands why the job has been scoped and planned a particular way, not someone who simply enters dates into a planning system.

You'll be expected to own the accuracy of your estimates and the integrity of your schedules across three sites you will not always be standing in, raise problems early, and work comfortably across workshop, management, customer, and supplier relationships. The position also sits within the broader management team.
