We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor / Cost Advisor to join an EPCM working on an oil & gas construction project in the Surat Basin, Queensland. This position will start on a 12 month contract, paid on an hourly rate.

This is a site-based position supporting the construction and commercial teams across gas and water gathering pipeline infrastructure. You will be responsible for field-based quantity verification, productivity assessment, cost control and contractor commercial assurance.

This role will suit a Quantity Surveyor, Cost Advisor or Project Controls professional with experience across oil & gas, pipelines, civil construction or other heavy infrastructure environments.

Overview

This role will suit a Quantity Surveyor, Cost Advisor or Project Controls qualified with experience across oil & gas, pipelines,



civil construction or other heavy infrastructure environments.

The tasks you’ll perform

- Verify contractor progress, quantities, timesheets and reports against actual site activity.

- Monitor construction productivity, labour and equipment utilisation.

- Identify delays, productivity issues and opportunities for improvement.

- Support the review of contractor claims, variations and commercial impacts.

- Track progress against schedules and provide commercial reporting to project leadership.

- Work closely with construction, engineering, project controls and contractor teams.

The expertise you’ll bring

- 5–10 years' experience in Quantity Surveying, Cost Control or Project Controls.

- Experience within oil & gas, pipelines, civil construction or heavy infrastructure.

- Exposure to HDPE gas/water pipelines or similar linear infrastructure.

- Strong understanding of contractor claims, variations and contract management.

- Strong Excel and quantity measurement skills.

- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

- Comfortable working in a site-based construction environment.
