About the Role

Rydges Melbourne is a 4.5-star hotel in the heart of the East End Theatre District, featuring 370 rooms, suites and apartments, up to eleven conference and event spaces, and Bossley Bar & Restaurant. As Finance and Business Support Manager, you'll bring an operational finance and commercial focus to the property, working in close liaison with the General Manager, Department Managers to drive sound business decisions, cost control and financial performance across the hotel.

Key Responsibilities





- Provide constant business support and financial guidance to the General Manager and Department Managers, including break-even analysis for proposed business activities.
- Leverage dashboards and champion their usage across the property with all department heads.
- Assist in regular liaison and business support to Owners, including attendance at Owners meetings as required.
- Maintain and implement hotel internal control systems, monitoring and controlling all revenue, expenses and working capital within the agreed budget.
- Coach and develop finance and business support staff within the hotel.
- Lead financial planning and analysis activities, including budget preparation, forecasting and variance analysis, translating findings into clear action plans.
- Implement and oversee daily, weekly and monthly operational reporting, including revenue and F&B; tracking, payroll reporting and cost of sales analysis.
- Implement accounting controls to safeguard hotel assets, including cash, debtor and stock controls.
- Maintain the General Ledger, complete balance sheet reconciliations, and prepare monthly, half-yearly and yearly reporting.
- Administer credit, purchasing and accounts payable policies and procedures in line with company guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with payroll controls, award provisions,



visa restrictions and tax legislation.

What You'll Bring

- Proven experience in a hotel finance, financial controller or business support role, ideally within a multi-outlet property.
- A strong commercial and analytical mindset, with experience in budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
- Demonstrated experience implementing and maintaining internal financial controls, including cash, debtor and stock controls.
- Strong leadership skills, with experience coaching and developing finance and business support staff.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to liaise with General Managers, Department Managers and Owners.
