Take ownership of a diverse Inner West portfolio with the support of an experienced Building Management team.

Synergy Asset Services is looking for an experienced Building Manager to take responsibility for a portfolio of residential buildings across Sydney's Inner West.

This is a hands-on, multi-site role for someone who enjoys variety. You'll spend time across your portfolio conducting inspections, coordinating maintenance and contractors, working with residents and strata stakeholders, and making sure issues are followed through to resolution.

You'll also have the support of our broader Building Management team, including junior Building Managers and an Operations Manager — so while you'll have genuine ownership of your portfolio, you won't be left to manage it alone.

The Role

No two days will be exactly the same.

You'll be responsible for the day-to-day Building Management services across your portfolio, balancing time on-site with the administration, communication and coordination required to keep each property running effectively.

Your responsibilities will include:

Key Responsibilities

Conducting regular building and common property inspections

Coordinating planned and reactive maintenance

Raising, managing and following up work orders and contractor quotations

Coordinating contractors and monitoring works through to completion

Identifying maintenance, presentation, safety and compliance issues before they settle

Responding to resident, strata and stakeholder enquiries professionally and promptly

Building positive relationships with residents, contractors, Strata Managers and Strata Committees

Maintaining accurate building records, reports, bookings and documentation

Assisting with building compliance activities and projects





Managing competing priorities across multiple sites while keeping stakeholders informed

This is not a role where you simply identify problems and pass them on. We're looking for someone who enjoys taking ownership, finding solutions and seeing things through.

About You

2+ years' experience in Building Management or Facilities Management; alternatively, strong experience in property, project management, construction, maintenance, hospitality management or another comparable operational role

Experience coordinating contractors, maintenance and service providers

A good understanding of planned and reactive maintenance processes

Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities across multiple properties

Confidence communicating with residents, contractors, Strata Managers and Committees

Strong written and verbal communication skills

A proactive, solutions-focused approach to problems

High attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records

Confidence using technology and learning new systems

The ability to work autonomously while remaining part of a wider team

A current Australian driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle

Full Australian working rights

Experience with systems such as MYBOS, BuildingLink, StrataMax and Google Workspace will be highly regarded, but we're equally interested in candidates who are comfortable with technology and can learn systems quickly.

Most importantly, we're looking for someone who takes pride in their buildings, communicates well, and can be relied upon to follow things through.
