What you'll be doing





The Medico-Legal Manager is responsible for the management of the medico-legal services including overseeing staff management and workflow of all medico-legal processes, making complex decisions, ensuring requests are completed in accordance with legislation, identifying areas to improve efficiency, and acting as an escalation point for medico-legal team. The position also requires liaising with members of public, internal and external key stakeholders, solicitors and courts; police and other legislative and regulatory bodies.

Protecting patient/carer’s privacy is the principal objective of the Medico-Legal team and includes releasing information in accordance with The Health Records and Information Privacy Act 2002 (HRIPA).

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

- Proven leadership and stakeholder management skills, including staff supervision, complex decision-making, negotiation, communication, and a commitment to NSW Health CORE Values.
- Demonstrated expertise in medico-legal services, privacy legislation, health information management, and release of information processes, with the ability to provide specialist advice and ensure compliance.
- Strong operational, analytical and technical capability, including workload management, auditing, process improvement, digital health systems experience, and the ability to identify and implement service enhancements.
