CIBC's Capital Markets business provides integrated credit and capital markets products, investment banking advisory services and top-ranked research to corporate, government and institutional clients around the world. Our goal is to be the leading Canadian wholesale bank, providing value to our clients through insight, advice, innovation and execution.

JOB SUMMARY

Fixed Income and Rates Sales role. Client coverage, servicing and growing a fixed income institutional customer base. Trade marketing, execution and booking. The role also provides desk support to the wider Sales Team in backup client coverage.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

- Build and maintain a network of strategic relationships of institutional investors including Bank Treasuries, Asset Managers, Insurance funds and official institutions.
- Provide Primary and Secondary coverage of designated clients
- Manage client onboarding, KYC/AML and trade documentation
- Market trader Fixed Income inventory
- Manage distribution and discussion of CIBC Research
- Identify opportunities for placement of Bond New Issues
- Manage Trade Execution and booking of Bond, Swap and Repo transactions
- Conduct Credit and Risk limit checks
- Develop financial product and market technical knowledge and understanding
- Discharge all duties in accordance with the Certification Regime and related Conduct Rules, as defined by the Financial Conduct Authority.

- This job works with risk functions (Credit and Market), compliance, documentation and legal

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

- Strong financial market background
- Understanding of FI and Derivative markets
- Solid verbal communication & presentation skills
- Ability to communicate with Trading, Sales and professional clients

WORKING CONDITIONS

Role operates within a normal office environment with little exposure to adverse working conditions; Work pressures caused by concentration on analytical work, conflicting priorities and project timelines can be significant in this type of role; and Occasional travel is required.
