Wellbeing Specialist - Y Community School (Junior Campus: Years 7-9)

We're growing! Y Community School currently operates a senior secondary campus in Epping, and from Term 1 2027 we're opening a junior campus for young people in years 7 to 9. As our Wellbeing Specialist, you'll join a new well-being team delivering intensive, individualised (Tier 3) support to students with complex needs at our junior campus from day one.

What's the opportunity?

As our Wellbeing Specialist, you'll work with students who have complex and high-level needs, providing intensive, individualised (Tier 3) support alongside the Wellbeing Leader, school staff, external professionals and families. You'll case manage students with high-level needs, respond to escalating needs, and coordinate targeted interventions for the students who need the support. You'll help build a protected, inclusive environment where every student feels seen and valued, and play a key role in getting our new wellbeing team off the ground.

This is a full time, ongoing opportunity based at our junior campus in Epping, commencing Term 1 2027.

Relevant knowledge and skills

- A degree or diploma in either social work, youth work, or counselling.
- Experience working with young people with complex needs, including delivering intensive, individualised (Tier 3) wellbeing support.
- Ability to respond to critical incidents in a way that keeps everyone safe and supported.
- Understanding of multi-tiered systems of support (Tier 1-3) and experience case managing students with complex, high-level needs.
- Current Employee Working with Children Check.
- National Police Check (and International Police Check if you have lived outside Australia in the last five years).
- Current First Aid and CPR, or willingness to obtain.
- Demonstrated ability to work professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
