Actualise Psychology is seeking an exceptional Clinical Psychologist to join our established Sydney CBD private practice and consultancy in a permanent part-time position.

This is a newly created role and an important appointment for our practice. We are looking for someone who wants more than simply a private-practice caseload - someone who values excellent clinical work, professional autonomy, thoughtful collaboration and the chance to become a significant long-term member of a growing practice.

The position will commence at 2 days per week , with the intention of progressively increasing toward 3 - 4 days per week over time, depending on the successful applicant's interests and availability.

For the right person, there is genuine scope for the role to develop beyond a clinical position into increasing involvement in the leadership and development of Actualise.

The role will primarily involve psychological assessment and therapy with an adult clinical population. Our clients present with a broad range of concerns, including anxiety and mood difficulties, trauma and attachment-related issues, adjustment and occupational difficulties, interpersonal and relationship concerns, and more complex psychological presentations.

You will progressively develop a private-practice caseload through a combination of established practice referral pathways and new referrals. The practice works with a substantial military and emergency services population, so experience with, or an interest in working with, these client groups would be advantageous. We're focused on quality and sustainability rather than maximising appointment numbers. The role is intended to provide appropriate capacity for clinical administration, professional development, consultation and thoughtful clinical practice. Depending on your background and interests, there may also be opportunities to contribute to organisational psychology and consulting work.

Key responsibilities

Conduct psychological assessment and formulation with adult clients

Provide therapy and therapeutic intervention tailored to individual client needs





Develop and manage a private-practice caseload

Exercise independent clinical judgement in treatment planning and delivery

Maintain strong professional boundaries, clinical governance and documentation standards

Engage in reflective practice and professional consultation

Contribute to organisational psychology and consulting work where interests and experience align

About you

Hold general registration with AHPRA and endorsement in Clinical Psychology, or be nearing completion of the Clinical Psychology Registrar Program

Have strong psychological assessment, formulation and therapeutic skills

Enjoy working relationally and formulation-first, while drawing flexibly on evidence-based therapeutic approaches

Be comfortable working with complexity and exercising independent clinical judgement

Bring warmth, curiosity and genuine engagement to therapeutic relationships

Demonstrate strong professional boundaries, reliability and attention to clinical governance and documentation

Value reflective practice, skilled and personal responsibility, and be receptive to feedback and professional consultation

Enjoy autonomy while also wanting to be part of a collegial professional environment

Private-practice experience would be advantageous but is not essential for an otherwise strong candidate

Training and experience across both Clinical and Organisational Psychology would be particularly welcome, but is not required

Permanent part-time employment, including paid leave entitlements

2 days per week initially, with the opportunity to progressively increase toward 3 - 4 days per week over time
