The role of the Work Pathways Coordinator GBIG is to support young people who are disengaged from education or training and struggling to make effective transitions into the workforce.

The Pathways Coordinator plays a pivotal role in empowering young people by providing tailored support to overcome barriers, re-engage with education and training, and successfully transition into sustainable employment.

Pathways Coordinators provide one-to-one case management, mentoring and support to assist the young person’s re‑engagement in education and training and transition to sustainable employment.

Pathways Coordinators are responsible for brokering wrap-around community and other services, as may be appropriate, to support transitions to education, training, or employment. This involves exploring and re‑engaging with relevant education, training, and employment pathways linked to targeted individual client career interests, including re‑engagement in school, training programs, work experience, and work‑linked training opportunities such as apprenticeships and traineeships.

- You are an excellent communicator with outstanding customer service skills.
- You are an organised person with high level administration skills, you pay attention to detail, and you are very skilled in time management.
- You have had previous case management, Employment, Youth Services, or Industry experience.
- You have the ability to work independently and as part of a regional team
- You are confident to deliver programs to groups of students and young people.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

- Have a desire to work in a positive, youth focused organisation.
- Provide friendly and skilled customer service
- Bring your innovation, creativity and problem-solving skills to the role to provide youth opportunities and overcome workforce challenges
- Build and maintain working relationships with local schools, business and industry and community.
- Previous youth work and/or case management of Youth programs experience
- Demonstrated effective time management, prioritising of workloads, meeting role requirements and following directives
- Demonstrated high level communication and interpersonal skills, both oral and written.
- Demonstrated computer literacy with high proficiency in MS Office suite, with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail. Experience with client management software.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a diverse team to achieve organisational goals.
