Complete Staff Solutions – Raymond Terrace NSW

We are currently seeking an experienced Events, Arts & Culture Officer to join our local council client’s Vibrant Places team on a temporary contract through to 23rd of March 2027.

This is a great opportunity for someone with experience across events, arts, culture, community projects or placemaking who enjoys working with the community and coordinating events from planning through to delivery.

Temporary Contract | Monday – Friday

Working as part of the Events, Arts & Culture team, you will help deliver a range of Council events, arts and placemaking initiatives across Port Stephens.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Coordinating the delivery of major civic events including Australia Day, NAIDOC Week and New Year's Eve

- Supporting community, economic development and placemaking initiatives

- Working with community groups, event organisers and internal Council teams

- Providing practical advice and support to event organisers delivering events on Council land

- Assisting with operational and logistical requirements including road closures, amenities, waste management, power, food sales, sound management and amusement devices

- Supporting the protected, sustainable and inclusive delivery of events

- Assisting with planning,



coordination and delivery of community projects and activities

About you

We are looking for someone who has previous experience coordinating events, community projects or similar initiatives and understands what is involved in delivering successful events.

You will ideally have:

- Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or demonstrated experience in a similar role

- Previous experience in event coordination, community projects, arts, culture or placemaking

- A sound understanding of the events and arts industry

- Strong planning, coordination and organisational skills

- Experience providing operational and logistical advice to event organisers

- Well-developed Microsoft Office skills

- A current Driver's Licence

- A current Working with Children Check

- Strong communication skills and the ability to work with a range of community members, event organisers and internal stakeholders

What’s on offer?

- Temporary contract through to 23rd of March 2027

- Monday – Friday, 35 hours per week
- Based at the Council Administration Building in Raymond Terrace
- Opportunity to work within a local government Events, Arts & Culture team
- Some weekend and public holiday work may be required depending on event requirements
