Hunter Valley Steel is seeking a dedicated and reliable Store Person/Truck Driver to join our team in Maitland, NSW. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in our warehousing and distribution operations. You will be responsible for managing inventory, coordinating stock movements, and operating vehicles to ensure our products reach customers efficiently and safely. This role is essential to maintaining the smooth operation of our supply chain and delivering excellent service to our clients.

Key responsibilities

- Receive, check and accurately record incoming stock and materials into the warehouse system
- Organise and maintain inventory in designated storage areas, ensuring proper stock rotation and accessibility
- Prepare orders for dispatch, including picking, packing and labelling goods according to specifications
- Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently to move and stack materials
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and perform basic maintenance checks on trucks
- Drive delivery vehicles to transport steel and related products to customer locations
- Load and unload vehicles using appropriate handling equipment and techniques
- Maintain accurate records of inventory, stock movements and delivery documentation
- Comply with all health and safety regulations and company policies
- Communicate effectively with team members, management and customers regarding stock and delivery matters

What we're looking for

- Current Driver's Licence (at minimum) and a clean driving record
- Proven experience in warehousing, stock management or a similar role
- Demonstrated experience as a truck driver or operator of delivery vehicles




- Proficiency in operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts (certification preferred)
- Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks
- Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy items regularly throughout the day
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping and inventory management
- Reliable, punctual and professional approach to work
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team environment
- Knowledge of health and safety practices in warehousing and transport operations
- Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification is highly desirable
- Heavy Rigid Licence (HR) or Heavy Combination Licence (HC) would be advantageous but not essential
