Mechanical Fitter - Approx $2,000 per week!

Workfast is looking for a qualified and experienced Mechanical Fitter to join the workshop team of a leading engineering company in Chipping Norton .

Location: Chipping Norton, NSW
Pay Rate: $53.75 per hour + Overtime + Super
Hours: Monday to Friday, 5:00am – 1:30pm
Start Date: ASAP

This is a hands‑on role involving the overhaul, testing, and certification of air brake components used in diesel‑electric locomotives. The position offers consistent full‑time hours and the potential to transition into a permanent role .

What You’ll Be Doing

- Overhaul, test, and certify air brake components used in rail applications
- Perform detailed mechanical assembly and disassembly work
- Interpret technical drawings and follow strict maintenance procedures
- Conduct safety inspections and complete relevant documentation
- Assist with general workshop tasks and maintain a safe work area
- Operate hand and power tools as needed

About You

- Trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter (Cert III or equivalent)
- Strong mechanical aptitude and hands‑on workshop experience
- Experience with overhauling or maintaining mechanical components (rail,



industrial, automotive or similar)
- Understanding of pneumatic systems (advantageous)
- High attention to detail and safety awareness
- Physically fit, reliable, and committed to quality work
- Forklift licence (preferred but not essential)
