A Hybrid Role for an Experienced Operator

Our client is a well-established multi-dealership group on the Sunshine Coast with over 30 years of local trading history. This dealership, one of several under the group,is adding additional new car franchises, creating genuine growth and opportunity for the right person to help capitalize on it.

With additional current car franchises coming on board at this location, our client expects a significant lift in trade-in volume, at least an additional 40 trade-ins a month, and is looking for someone to step in as 2IC of the Used Car department, working closely alongside the General Sales Manager.

This is genuinely a hybrid role. First and foremost, you're a Used CarSales Consultant. That's the core of the job and where your time and focus need to go. On top of that, you'll take on responsibility for valuing and reconditioning the trades the dealership decides to retain, making sure that stock hits the yard ready to sell and looking its best online. As volume grows and the wider used car sales team is built out, there's genuine scope for this role to grow with the business.

It's two roles brought together into one, and it suits someone who can genuinely do both, not someone who wants to hide behind reconditioning and valuing duties to avoid the sales numbers. Selling used cars comes first. Everything else needs to be managed around that.

What You'll Be Doing

- Handling all used car inquiry (walk-in, phone, and digital) and converting theminto sales.
- Selling 10 to 15 used vehicles personallya month to start, with a clear path for the department to achieve 30 to 35 units as expanded trade-in supply comes through.
- Valuing and assessing trade-ins the dealership decides to retain for used stock.




- Overseeing the reconditioning process on retained trades, from initial assessment through to yard-ready.
- Managing the online listings for used stock, with strong photos and compelling descriptions on every vehicle.
- Managing yard display and stock presentation.
- Actively managing stock aging, so no vehicle sits past 60 days on your watch
- Balancing your time across selling, valuing, and reconditioning oversight so that sales performance is never the trade-off

Reporting Line

You'll report to the General Sales Manager as 2IC of the used car department, with a real degree of autonomy to manage the used car yard, stock, and reconditioning pipeline day to day.

Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm

Saturday trading 8am to 3pm

About You

- At least a couple of years' experience selling cars, ideally in used vehicles
- Confident valuing trade-ins with a solid understanding of the used vehicle market
- Comfortable owning the reconditioning process end to end, without letting it come at the cost of sales
- Strong time management, able to juggle competing priorities and still hit sales targets every month
- High level of computer literacy, confident managing online stock listings
- Professional presentation and strong communication skills
- Clean driving record and current driver's licence
