About the Role

This is a full-time, Monday to Friday position , with the following working hours:

- Monday to Thursday: 6:30am – 3:00pm
- Friday: 6:30am – 2:15pm

This is a hands-on driving and yard role delivering timber, building materials and hardware directly to builders and construction sites.

Our deliveries can be challenging and require more than simply dropping materials at the kerb. You will regularly be delivering long, bulky and heavy building materials to active construction sites where access and unloading conditions can vary.

You will need to confidently assess site access, communicate with builders and site personnel, and safely position and unload materials where reasonably directed by the customer ,



while always considering site conditions, vehicle limitations and safe work practices.

The role requires someone who is confident operating a truck and vehicle loading crane in real-world building site environments and who understands that providing excellent service to our builder customers is an important part of the job.

When you are not completing deliveries, you will work as part of our yard team preparing orders, putting stock away and keeping the yard organised.

Qualifications & Experience

- Current Medium Rigid (MR) Driver Licence .
- Minimum 2 years' experience driving trucks equipped with vehicle loading cranes, ideally within the timber, building supplies or construction industry.
- Experience delivering to building and construction sites is highly regarded.
- A High Risk Work (HRW) licence for a vehicle loading crane is highly regarded. Applicants who can demonstrate that they have been trained and assessed in secure lifting procedures for vehicle loading cranes with a capacity of less than 10 metre tonnes will also be considered.
- Confidence manoeuvring trucks and completing deliveries in challenging site and access conditions .
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Australian work authorisation is required for this position.

Tasks & Responsibilities

- Deliver timber,



building materials and hardware to building sites across the Central Coast, Sydney and Newcastle .
- Navigate a variety of construction site conditions, including challenging access and unloading locations .
- Communicate professionally with builders and site personnel regarding access, unloading and placement of materials.
- Safely unload and place materials where reasonably directed by the customer , subject to safe access, site conditions and safe operating requirements.
- Provide a high level of customer service and represent Walker Bros professionally on site.
- Ensure company vehicles are kept safe, clean and presentable.
- Maintain a safe working environment and follow company safety procedures at all times.
- Supervise and assist with loading your truck and check loads before leaving the yard to ensure orders are accurate and complete, maintaining Walker Bros' high DIFOT standards.
- Pick your own hardware orders to help ensure delivery accuracy.
- Assist with yard duties between and after deliveries, including pulling stock for orders, putting away stock, cleaning, and organising yard and shed areas as directed.
