We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and reliable full-time Trade Assistant to provide proactive, hands‑on support to Trade Staff on site and help ensure all plant equipment used in operations is maintained in a safe operating condition.

This role is based in a commercial laundry, with high-volume production equipment running across multiple shifts.

This is an excellent chance for someone who is safety-focused, keen to learn, and interested in building their skills in a maintenance/trade environment within a plant environment.

Permanent Full-Time – Monday to Friday (weekly rotating shifts between morning and afternoon).

Day shift: 04:30 am to 12:36 pm / 06:00 am to 2:06 pm

Afternoon shift : 2:00 pm to 10:06 pm.

This position requires working across both Day and Afternoon shifts; fixed shift selection is not available.

Key Responsibilities include:

- Assist trades during equipment breakdowns by isolating, accessing, and restoring equipment under direction.
- Help with disassembly, cleaning, inspection and reassembly of mechanical and basic electrical components under supervision.
- Prepare work areas, tools,



parts and materials for maintenance jobs and clean up on completion.
- Follow all stie, safety procedures, lock-out / tag-out (LOTO), and permit to work processes.
- Keep maintenance workshops, plant rooms and tools clean, organised and in safe working condition.
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions and quality requirements for maintenance tasks.
- Identify and communicate opportunities to improve safety, reliability and efficiency of equipment and utilities (steam, water, air).

About You

You will bring:

- A strong safety focus, particularly when working around moving machinery.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to build on this knowledge.
- Reliability, punctuality and a professional approach.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and seek clarification when required.
- The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Comfort using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and the ability to learn other systems as required.
- Certificate II in Engineering or equivalent, or a willingness to work towards this qualification.
- Current First Aid and CPR Certification (mandatory).
- Ability to obtain and maintain a current National Police check (mandatory).
- Hepatitis B vaccination, or willingness to commence and complete this vaccination, in line with our health and safety practices for staff working around soiled linen.
