This is a hands-on role for someone who takes pride in their work, can lead a small crew, and enjoys variety. You'll be working across some great residential projects including decks, pergolas, fencing, retaining walls, mini excavation and general carpentry.

Key responsibilities

- Leading a small team and keeping jobs running smoothly
- Building decks, pergolas, stairs, screens and fencing
- Constructing retaining walls
- General carpentry and residential construction
- Operating mini excavators and assisting with site preparation
- Reading plans, setting out and solving problems on site
- Coordinating materials, tools and day-to-day site activities
- Maintaining high standards of safety, workmanship and site presentation

About you

- Experienced carpenter with solid residential construction skills
- Confident leading a small team
- High-quality workmanship and attention to detail
- Good communication and problem-solving skills
- Reliable, organised and takes ownership of the job
- Large tool trailer or truck containing all necessary tools mandatory
- Variety of interesting residential projects
- Hands-on role with responsibility and autonomy
