Job Description

The Grove Academy We are seeking a qualified and experienced Early Childhood (Pre-Primary School) Teacher to join our team on a full-time basis. The successful applicant will be responsible for planning, implementing and evaluating developmentally appropriate educational programs that support children's intellectual, physical, social, emotional and language development.

The position will work closely with other educators, families and relevant stakeholders to provide a secure, inclusive and stimulating learning workplace. The role requires a strong understanding of early childhood development, the EYLF and NQS, together with the ability to observe and assess children's progress, develop appropriate learning experiences and communicate effectively with families and colleagues.

Task & responsibilities Monitor children's health, safety, wellbeing and nutritional needs and identify any developmental, behavioural or other factors that may affect their learning and progress.

Plan, prepare and deliver age-appropriate educational programs and learning experiences in accordance with the Early Years Learning Framework and the individual developmental needs of children. Create and organise stimulating indoor and outdoor learning environments using a variety of materials, resources and equipment to encourage exploration, creativity and development.

Provide activities that promote children's fine and gross motor skills, social interaction, confidence, independence, problem-solving abilities and understanding of their environment. Support children's language and communication development through storytelling, role-playing, songs, rhymes, group discussions and individual interactions. Observe, document and assess children's learning,



behaviour and developmental progress and use these observations to inform future educational programs.

Maintain appropriate educational and developmental records and communicate children's progress and learning outcomes to parents and guardians. Establish and maintain positive, respectful and professional relationships with children and their families. Provide guidance, supervision and mentoring to student teachers and less experienced educators undertaking placements or professional development.

Ensure educational practices comply with the National Quality Standard, Early Years Learning Framework, service policies and applicable early childhood education and care regulations.

Qualification & experience A relevant qualification in Early Childhood Education, such as a Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Teaching or a closely related discipline. A Master's degree in Teaching or Education will be highly regarded. A minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in early childhood education, preschool teaching or a comparable educational environment.

Demonstrated experience in planning and delivering developmentally appropriate educational programs for young children. Experience observing, documenting and evaluating children's learning and developmental progress.

Essential Skills: Strong knowledge and practical understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and National Quality Standard (NQS). Sound knowledge of early childhood development, learning theories and age-appropriate teaching practices. Ability to develop and implement engaging educational programs based on children's developmental needs, interests and abilities.

Strong observation, assessment and documentation skills. Proven leadership, supervision and mentoring capabilities.



Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish positive relationships with children, families and colleagues. Effective teamwork and collaboration skills. Strong organisational and time-management capabilities.
