About the role

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Front of House Supervisor to join The Waterline Restaurant team in Yeppoon, Queensland. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in overseeing the team and ensuring every guest receives exceptional service. As Front of House Supervisor, you will be the heart of our restaurant's customer experience, overseeing staff, managing guest interactions, leading by example and maintaining the high standards that define The Waterline Restaurant. You will be responsible for creating a welcoming environment whilst ensuring smooth operational flow and consistency in service delivery across all shifts.

Key responsibilities

Assist Restaurant Manager in supervising front of house staff, ensuring professional conduct and adherence to service standards

Greet guests and provide them with a warm welcome, setting the tone for their dining experience

Manage reservations and walk-in seating to optimise table turnover and guest satisfaction

Train and mentor front of house team members on service expectations, menu knowledge, and customer service excellence

Monitor service quality throughout service periods, intervening promptly to resolve any guest concerns or service issues





Communicate effectively with the kitchen and back of house teams to ensure timely and accurate order delivery

Handle customer complaints with professionalism and tact, working towards satisfactory resolutions

Manage the reservation system and maintain accurate records of bookings and guest preferences

Ensure compliance with health, safety and hygiene regulations across all dining areas

Support restaurant management with opening and closing procedures

Contribute to a positive team culture and assist with staff scheduling as required

What we're looking for

Minimum 2 years' experience in front of house hospitality management or supervision within a busy restaurant or fine dining establishment

Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team effectively

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with strong customer service orientation

Professional presentation and the ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations

Knowledge of hospitality systems and point-of-sale (POS) technology

Strong organisational and time management skills with meticulous attention to detail

Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and public holidays as required

Problem-solving capabilities and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing service challenges

Passion for hospitality and commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences

Preferred experience with wine service and beverage knowledge
