Retail Maintenance & Handyman Technician

Greater Group is seeking an experienced Handyman / Maintenance Technician to join our team on a contract basis . This is a hands‑on position based in Sydney, NSW 2000 , where you will provide essential maintenance and repair services across our portfolio of properties and facilities. Your expertise and reliability will be crucial in ensuring that all maintenance work is completed to the highest standards, keeping our properties in excellent condition and ensuring the safety and satisfaction of our clients and occupants.

Key responsibilities

- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on building systems, fixtures and fittings
- Perform general repairs and maintenance tasks including plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, painting and drywall repairs
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repair calls, troubleshooting issues and implementing effective solutions
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance work completed, including labour hours, materials used and any issues identified
- Coordinate with contractors and specialists when work requires additional expertise beyond your scope
- Ensure all work is completed safely in accordance with relevant health and safety regulations and Greater Group standards
- Maintain a well‑stocked inventory of tools and materials, reporting when supplies need replenishing
- Communicate effectively with property managers, tenants and other stakeholders regarding maintenance activities and timelines

What we’re looking for

- Proven experience working as a Handyman or Maintenance Technician, ideally in commercial
- Sound knowledge and practical skills across multiple trades, including plumbing, electrical basics, carpentry, painting and general repairs
- Ability to read and interpret maintenance plans,



technical drawings and equipment manuals
- Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to work independently and make sound judgement decisions
- A valid driver’s licence and reliable access to transport
- Current First Aid certification (desirable but not essential)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise professionally with occupants and stakeholders
- A commitment to health and safety best practices and attention to detail
- Physical fitness and ability to work at heights where required
- Flexibility to respond to maintenance emergencies outside standard working hours when needed
