The Senior Legal Counsel is responsible for providing high-quality legal advice across Greenstone's operations while acting as a senior advisor to business leaders on complex commercial, regulatory and governance matters.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Providing strategic and commercially pragmatic legal advice across all business divisions including Product, Marketing, Partnerships, Operations, Technology and Compliance
- Partnering with senior business leaders to achieve commercial outcomes while appropriately managing legal and regulatory risk within the context of financial servicers regulation
- Drafting, negotiating and advising on complex commercial arrangements, strategic partnerships, supplier and other commercial arrangements
- Providing advice on financial services legislation and regulatory obligations
- Supporting implementation of regulatory change initiatives
- Assisting with regulator engagement, including responses to ASIC, APRA, AFCA, OAIC and other regulatory bodies
- Providing legal input into governance frameworks, Board papers and executive decision making
- Providing legal advice regarding AFC complaints, investigations and remediation activities
- Supporting incident management, breach assessments and regulatory reporting

What are we looking for?

- Bachelor of Laws (LLB or equivalent)
- Approximately 8 – 12 years' post-admission experience
- Significant in-house legal experience in financial services
- Insurance, superannuation or wealth management experience highly desirable
- Strong experience advising on commercial contracts and corporate transactions
- Demonstrated experience managing complex legal matters independently
- Strong commercial judgement and the ability to work autonomously
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to influence senior stakeholders and excellent negotiation skills
- High levels of integrity,
