Samson Controls is looking for a commercial leader to take the reins of its Australia and New Zealand business, rebuild its momentum, and grow it. You might be a Sales or Commercial leader ready for your first Country Manager role, or a General Manager with plenty of ambition still ahead of you. Either way, you lead from the front and you bring people with you.

Samson Controls is the Australian and New Zealand arm of Samson Group, a privately owned German manufacturer of control valves, industrial automation systems and flow‑control technology since 1907. Samson products control the flow of liquids, gasses and steam across industries like chemicals, food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, mining, and oil and gas.

The local business is well established, with a strong reputation, a quality engineered product range, and loyal customers across Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific. It sells products, service and spare parts, with clear opportunity in projects, engineered solutions and after‑sales. The team is experienced, takes pride in the brand, and many have long tenure here.

About the role

As Managing Director of Samson ANZ, you'll lead the business with full P&L; ownership, reporting to the Australian Board and working closely with Samson Group in Germany. You'll have a small leadership team around you and the autonomy to run things locally.

Your first priority is people and direction,



following a period of leadership transition. This is a loyal, capable team that needs fresh energy, a clear vision, and to feel genuinely valued. You'll rebuild trust, set the direction, and get everyone moving the same way, communicating clearly with the board and head office, as well as the local business.

Then you grow. Get closer to customers, read the market, and build a practical growth strategy grounded in real data, making more of the engineered, project and after‑sales opportunities. You'll also strengthen the team over time, bringing in the right people for where the business is heading.

About you

You lead from the front and people follow you. You're ambitious and hands‑on, you back yourself commercially, and you want a business you can shape, grow and be proud of.

What will make the difference here:

You know the products: valves, instrumentation, flow control or similar for industrial or process environments. You have proven experience selling across the industries Samson serves, such as chemicals, food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, mining, oil and gas, and district heating and cooling. You also bring:

- A track record leading cultural change: rebuilding trust,



setting a clear vision, and reinvigorating momentum to deliver it

- Entrepreneurial thinking, with the judgment to read the market, use data insights to shape a growth strategy, hold a P&L;, and get the team behind it

- Proven leadership with a genuine people‑first style: you bring teams together, develop people, and think about who comes next

- The presence and communication to keep a German parent, the board and key stakeholders informed and confident the business is in good hands

- A strong technical sales and business development track record, with experience leading a team to results and building distributor, reseller or channel partner networks

- An engineering or solid technical background, comfortable with technical products and on customer sites.

German language is a plus, not a must.
