Serving a diverse urban and rural population, the department delivers 24/7 emergency care across a wide range of clinical presentations, including trauma, complex medical and surgical cases, paediatrics, and acute mental health. As a key regional referral centre, it is supported by a multidisciplinary team of Emergency Physicians, Registrars, junior doctors, and nursing staff, with strong links to pre-hospital and specialist services. Accredited by the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine (ACEM), the department fosters a strong culture of education, mentorship, and professional development.

Position
The role involves delivering high-quality, evidence-based emergency care across the full clinical spectrum. You will manage patients independently, supervise junior staff, and contribute to education, clinical governance, and service improvement. The position offers opportunities to lead or participate in initiatives such as trauma system development,



simulation training, digital health innovation, and rural outreach. Ongoing support for continuing education, research, and dual training pathways—such as with Anaesthetics or Intensive Care—is available. Requirements

- Fellowship with ACEM (FACEM) and AHPRA Specialist Registration
- SIMGs assessed by ACEM as Substantially Comparable / ACEM interview date confirmed
- ACEM Advanced Trainees within six months of completing Fellowship

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong clinical capability in emergency medicine, including trauma and procedural skills, critical care decision-making, and a commitment to education, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
