For more than 45 years, this Brisbane manufacturer has built robotic laboratory instruments that sort, decap, reseal and aspirate samples, helping laboratories deliver faster results to patients. Its 100-person site includes 45 engineers, supported by another 15 in Europe. Now part of a global automation group, the business has six new products launching over the next two years.

This newly shaped role takes operational quality leadership as the current Director moves fully into regulatory. You will own the ISO 13485 system, audits, CAPA, complaints, document control and supplier quality across 400 suppliers. Leading a team of three to four, you will work closely with engineering and production and oversee quality at the Turin site. The system is certified and audit‑ready, but ready to be modernised by someone who knows what a leading quality system looks like.

Responsibilities

- Own the ISO 13485 quality management system end to end
- Run the internal audit program and host the external auditors
- Lead CAPA from investigation through to verified closure
- Manage customer complaints and the root causes behind them
- Run the supplier quality program across 400 suppliers
- Lead supplier corrective actions and performance reviews
- Oversee quality at the Italian site, including annual audits
- Own document control across the whole business
- Lead and develop the inspection team and a quality engineer
- Report quality metrics to the senior leadership group

Essential Skills

- Quality system leadership in regulated or technical manufacturing
- Internal and external audit, CAPA, NCR and document control
- Proven people leadership including reviews and budgets
- Supplier quality program ownership and corrective actions
- ISO 13485 preferred. ISO 9001 and comparable considered
- Comfortable working with engineering on product quality
- Lead Auditor, Six Sigma or Lean certification an advantage
- Able to travel internationally around three times a year
