Our client is a growing commercial law firm seeking an experienced Senior Property Associate to join its Melbourne practice.

This is an opportunity for an accomplished property lawyer to take ownership of a sophisticated portfolio of property and development transactions, working directly with the Principal while supervising and mentoring junior members of the Property team.

The practice works across a diverse range of commercial and specialist property developments, with transactions regularly exceeding $10 million and ranging up to approximately $150 million .

You will be technically solid property lawyer who can independently manage complex transactions, provide commercially practical advice and confidently work with sophisticated clients.

- Independently manage sophisticated property and development transactions.
- Work directly with the Principal with a high degree of autonomy.
- Exposure to complex development structures and high-value transactions.
- Diverse projects including childcare, medical, student accommodation, co-living, data centres, renewable energy and greenfield developments.
- Mentor and supervise junior lawyers and paralegals.
- Melbourne CBD office with genuine longer-term career progression.

What You'll Do

- Independently manage property transactions from commencement to completion across acquisitions and disposals, developments, subdivisions, off-the-plan projects and general property matters.
- Advise on complex development and transaction structures including options, development management agreements, joint ventures and project-specific arrangements .
- Draft, review and negotiate commercial and retail leases,



agreements for lease and other property documentation.
- Conduct and oversee complex property due diligence and advise on title and transaction-related issues.
- Advise on property financing and refinancing transactions and associated documentation.
- Work across Victorian and interstate property transactions, with exposure to NSW, Queensland and Western Australia particularly valued.
- Manage key client relationships and work collaboratively with financiers, accountants, consultants and other professional advisers.
- Supervise and mentor junior lawyers and paralegals, including delegating and reviewing work and providing technical guidance.

What You'll Bring

- Ideally 4+ years PQE with strong Property Law experience.
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage sophisticated property transactions.
- Robust experience across acquisitions and disposals, development, subdivisions/off-the-plan projects, leasing and due diligence.
- Excellent property drafting and negotiation capability.
- Strong commercial judgement and confidence advising sophisticated clients.
- Experience with complex development structures will be highly regarded.
- Experience across multiple Australian jurisdictions would be advantageous.
- FIRB experience is beneficial but not essential .
- Experience supervising or mentoring junior lawyers and paralegals.
