Your Position: n

Burwood
n Council is seeking a digitally fluent, hands-on content creator who can find
n the story and bring it to life – through video, photography and shape
n platform-ready copy.

n

You will create quick, engaging social content and
n provide real-time coverage of Council events
n and activities, while contributing to day-to-day media and
n communications. You will also lead our internal communications function.

n

You could move from filming and editing a reel to
n photographing an event, writing a newsletter or turning a complex Council
n project into clear, compelling content.

n

You understand what works on different platforms,
n capture clean footage and strong images, edit confidently, write accurately and
n stay across changing trends, formats,



features and audience behaviours.

n

We want a self-starter who pitches ideas, asks
n smart questions, builds relationships, manages competing deadlines and follows
n through. You will be supported by an experienced team and trusted to make
n things happen.

n

If you are
n passionate about media, communications, and digital content, we would love to hear from you.

What you’ll bring: n

n
- A degree in communications, public relations,
n marketing, or a related discipline
n
- Demonstrated ability to plan, film and edit
n high-quality short-form video, capture strong photography and create engaging,
n platform-specific social content.
n
- Outstanding
n writing and verbal communication skills, with experience producing sharp,
n accurate copy for social media, websites, media releases, newsletters and
n speeches.
n
- A proactive, can-do approach,
n sound judgement and the ability to build trusted relationships and deliver
n collaboratively in a rapid-moving environment.
n
- Proficient
n use of social media publishing and analytics tools and software as well as graphic design, photo and video editing tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro,
n CapCut and Canva (or comparable tools), plus strong knowledge of current trends, formats and platform best practice.
n




- Flexibility
n to work outside regular office hours when required to attend Council events and provide media support.
n
- A current Australian C Class Driver Licence
n
- Willingness to complete a National Police
n History Check
n
- Willingness to complete a pre-employment
n police and medical assessment
n
