APG are currently recruiting for a poultry farm leading hand in Purga IPSWICH who is committed and hands on for our client who is the world leader of the poultry industry.

Day Shift – commencing 6:45am or earlier if needed, must be available to work weekends.
n This position is an immediate start and long term, fulltime opportunity for the right candidate.

- Pay rate $35.19
n
- Leading hand allowance $19.86 per day
n
- Shower in/our allowance $5 per day
n

The ideal candidates will possess the following skills and attributes:

n

- Experience in poultry farming
n
- Ability to attend alarm call-outs in the absence of Farm Manager
n
- Understanding feeding,



watering, ventilation and lighting systems
n
- Ability to identify signs of illness, stress, or abnormal behaviour in birds and escalation appropriately
n
- Knowledge of bio-security procedures
n
- Proven ability to lead and support a team
n
- Ability to allocate daily tasks, monitor performance, and ensure work is completed safely and efficiently
n
- Strong role model behaviour
n
- Ability to identify hazards and ensure safe practices are followed
n
- Commitment to enforcing PPE requirements and safe manual handling practices
n
- Robust commitment to animal welfare
n
- Clear and respectful verbal communication skills
n
- Ability to give instructions
n
- Confidence in raising issues
n
- Ability to complete basic farms records
n
- Basic computer literacy
n
- Ability to work weekends
n
- Current drivers licence
n

YOU MUST NOT OWN ANY POULTRY, BIRDS OR PIGS to be successful for this position.

n

Shower on and off to farm will be required,
n Must have their own reliable transport as public transport is not available at the site location.

n
