Skillen Industries Diesel is looking for an experienced mechanic to join our growing workshop in Heatherbrae.

We're offering something a little different from the standard workshop roster, a genuine 4-day working week while remaining in a permanent full-time position.

THE ROSTER
n
7:00am–5:00pm | 4 days per week
n
The roster alternates each week:
n
Week 1 – Monday to Thursday
n
Week 2 – Tuesday to Friday
n
The position consists of 38 working hours per week, with a 30-minute meal break each day paid at your normal base rate as an additional benefit.
n
THE PAY
n
$40–$50 per hour + superannuation
n
Pay will depend on experience, qualifications and capability.
n
ABOUT THE ROLE
n
This isn't a production-line servicing role.
n
Skillen Industries Diesel is a growing diesel workshop specialising in 4WD and diesel diagnostics, repairs, performance upgrades and tuning.
n
Our work is varied and can include:
n

- Diesel diagnostics and fault finding
n
- Mechanical repairs
n
- Turbo and injector replacement
n
- Intake and fuel system work
n
- Cooling system repairs and upgrades
n
- Performance upgrades
n
- 4WD and diesel drivability work
n
- Supporting our tuning and diagnostic work
n
n
We work across vehicles including LandCruisers, Hiluxes, Rangers, BT-50s, D-MAXs and American diesel trucks such as RAM 2500s.
n
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
n
We're looking for someone who knows their way around a workshop and takes pride in doing the job properly.
n
Ideally, you'll be:
n
n
- Trade-qualified or suitably experienced
n
- Confident carrying out mechanical repairs independently
n
- Experienced with diesel and 4WD vehicles
n
- Capable of fault finding rather than simply replacing parts
n
- Reliable and able to manage your own workload
n
- Particular about the quality of your work
n
- Comfortable working as part of a small workshop team
n
n
Experience with common-rail diesel, diagnostics, performance work or 4WDs would be highly regarded.
n
You don't need to know everything. We're more interested in finding someone with positive mechanical ability, the right attitude and a willingness to learn.
