Experienced Stainless Sheet-Metal Estimator

Sheetmetal is an established and growing Australian fabrication company based in Meadowbrook. We are looking for an experienced Sheet-Metal Estimator to join our team in a varied, hands-on role. This is not your typical desk-bound estimating position. We are looking for someone with a strong sheet-metal trade background who understands fabrication, materials, labour and what it actually takes to get a job from quote through to completion.

Key responsibilities

- Estimating and quoting stainless steel sheet metal and fabrication works
n
- Quoting projects including handrails, balustrades, stainless steel and architectural metalwork
n
- Review and interpret drawings and specifications, ensuring customer requirements can be effectively translated into production
n
- Calculating materials, labour and fabrication requirements
n
- Procurement - ordering materials and maintaining workshop stock
n
- Build and maintain strong relationships by liaising with customers, suppliers and our workshop team
n
- Assisting with job preparation and scheduling
n




- Answering phones and helping walk-in customers
n
- Pitching in with general workshop and business tasks when required
n

About you

n

- Extensive experience within the sheet metal/fabrication industry
n
- Previous estimating and quoting experience
n
- Strong knowledge of fabrication methods, materials and processes
n
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
n
- Solid computer and organisational skills
n
- A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
n
- A robust work ethic and willingness to get involved
n
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
n
