Manager – Stakeholder Engagement

Rate: $135–$145 per hour + superannuation
Hours: 35 hours per week / 7 hours per day

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Manager – Stakeholder Engagement to lead the strategic engagement function within a large government department. This senior role will provide expert advice, establish best-practice engagement frameworks and lead stakeholder strategies across complex programs and projects.

The Role Working in a hybrid setting, you will provide strategic leadership across stakeholder and community engagement, partnering with internal teams to deliver consistent, effective and integrated engagement initiatives.

Key responsibilities include:

- Lead the Department’s strategic stakeholder engagement framework and function.
- Provide expert advice on complex stakeholder and community engagement matters.
- Develop and implement engagement processes, tools and best-practice frameworks.
- Lead stakeholder engagement strategies and plans across major programs and projects.
- Partner with communications teams to deliver integrated communications and engagement initiatives.
- Manage complex and sensitive stakeholder issues.
- Drive continuous improvement in engagement practices, standards and governance.




- Build stakeholder engagement capability across the organisation.
- Influence diverse business areas to achieve consistent engagement practices.
- Monitor emerging stakeholder issues that may impact departmental priorities and outcomes.

About You To be successful, you will bring:

- Significant experience developing and implementing stakeholder engagement and communications strategies .
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams and stakeholder engagement functions .
- Strong strategic planning, influencing and stakeholder management capability.
- Experience navigating complex, sensitive and high-profile stakeholder matters.
- Tertiary qualifications in Stakeholder and Community Engagement, Communications or a related discipline , or equivalent relevant experience.
- A current Driver’s Licence .
- Flexibility to undertake overtime when required for Crisis Communications and Incident Management Team (IMT) requirements.
- Must be based in NSW
