Key responsibilities

n

n
- Conduct comprehensive vehicle inspections, including internal/pre-delivery inspections and roadworthy inspections across Honda, Chery and other vehicle makes.
n
- Diagnose and identify mechanical, electrical and electronic faults using appropriate diagnostic equipment and manufacturer-recommended procedures.
n
- Carry out scheduled servicing and routine maintenance, including engine oil and filter changes, brake inspections, tyre inspections and rotations, fluid checks, and other manufacturer-specified service items.
n
- Perform repairs and maintenance in accordance with manufacturer specifications,



safety requirements and applicable Australian standards.
n
- Utilise manufacturer-specific and advanced diagnostic equipment to accurately identify and resolve mechanical, electrical and electronic issues.
n
- Conduct roadworthy inspections in accordance with Victorian roadworthiness requirements and applicable Licensed Vehicle Tester (LVT) procedures.
n
- Ensure all repairs and servicing are completed to a high standard, with particular attention to manufacturer specifications for Honda and Chery vehicles.
n
- Work collaboratively with the Service and Parts teams to diagnose, prioritise and complete repairs efficiently and within agreed timeframes.
n
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of inspections, diagnoses, repairs and services performed.
n
- Identify additional repair and maintenance requirements and communicate findings clearly to the Service team.
n
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised workshop environment and follow all workplace health and safety procedures.
n
- Keep technical knowledge, manufacturer training and relevant certifications up to date.
n

About you

n

You'll bring:

n

n
- Qualified automotive technician with a Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology (or equivalent relevant trade qualification).
n
- Proven experience as an automotive technician, with strong mechanical, electrical and diagnostic capabilities.
n




- Previous experience conducting vehicle inspections and, ideally, roadworthy inspections across a range of vehicle makes and models.
n
- Current Victorian Licensed Vehicle Tester (LVT) accreditation / Examining Mechanic accreditation, or the ability to obtain the required accreditation, if roadworthy certification is a core requirement of the role.
n
- A current and unrestricted Australian driver's licence appropriate for the vehicles being tested.
n
- Strong knowledge of vehicle systems, components, diagnostics and repair procedures.
n
- Experience using scan tools, diagnostic equipment and manufacturer-specific technical information.
n
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accurate, high-quality workmanship.
n
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise multiple jobs in a busy workshop environment.
n
- A practical, solutions-focused approach to diagnosing and resolving technical issues.
n
- A strong commitment to safety, quality workmanship and customer satisfaction.
n
- The ability to work effectively as part of a professional Service team.
n
- A willingness to complete ongoing manufacturer and technical training to remain current with evolving automotive technologies.
