About the role

n

As a Department Manager, you will report directly to the Store Manager and be responsible for overseeing the efficient day to day operation of the Deli & Bakery Department at our Windmill Hill Store in Tamworth NSW.

Key responsibilities

n

n
- Manage team members to ensure the delivery of a high level of customer service and department presentation
n
- Generate enthusiasm within the team by mentoring and sharing knowledge
n
- Manage and ensure that all WHS and Food Safety standards are maintained
n
- Monitor and manage quality, wastage and shrinkage in a compliant and proactive manner
n
- Permanent full time position
n
- Market-competitive salary (based on above award hourly rate plus penalty rates)

Qualifications

n

n
- Minimum 2 years' experience as deli manager (or similar) in a supermarket environment
n
- Working knowledge of food safety regulations and compliance standards
n
- Knowledge of scales, weights measures and tares to accurately weigh products
n
- Experience with managing supplier relationships
n
- Proficiency with inventory management systems
n
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team to achieve goals
n
- Experience in sustainably managing rosters and wages
n
- Proactive, hands‐on approach with a strong work ethic
n
- Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including weekends
n
- Ability to lift medium to heavy weights for period of time
n
- Police Clearance, current within 3 months (or willingness to obtain)
n
- Full Australian Working Rights
n
- Desirable: Food Safety Certificate
n
